Gift Guide: No Kid (or Geek) Can Resist a Spinning Lightsaber

Another Movielne HQ favorite from the Hasbro shipment: the Spinning Electronic Lightsaber. Here's the problem with your normal, run-of-the-mill lightsaber -- it doesn't spin. Now, I'm not exactly sure why the lightsaber needs to spin, but it does make a pretty nifty light up effect as it does. And it gets better...

See, the worst thing about buying a lightsaber is that, usually, only one is included. Not this bad boy. The spinning lightsaber detaches into two separate sabers so that you and your nerd friends can recreate your favorite Star Wars scenes. Or attach the two sabers without the spinning doohickey and it becomes a Darth Maul-style double edged lightsaber. Honestly, I just like the sounds: Once it "ignites," the lightsaber emits a dull humming sound until it's waved into to action -- in which then it reproduces the clashing of two sabers. Warning: Do not use while wearing the Boba Fett helmet. Not for any safety reasons, it's just that Fett never used a lightsaber so you would risk losing all of your built-up nerd capital.
