Law & Order: SVU Collars Shohreh Aghdashloo

shoreh_225.jpgEmmy winner Shohreh Aghdashloo is taking that hypnotic husky voice of hers over to Law & Order: SVU for an episode. The 24 alum will play Sunny Qadar, a tough-but-fair investigator in the Brooklyn DA's office.

According to an SVU source, Aghdashloo met series star Mariska Hargitay at last year's Emmys and hit it off immediately. Showrunner Neal Baer, in turn, asked her to do the show. Quick aside: If generating sparks with MHar at the Emmys is the litmus test for landing an SVU guest spot methinks my phone should've been ringing off the hook a long time ago. But I digress... Aghdashloo's episode is slated to air in January.

She is a very fine and experienced actress with a background in theater as well as film. The reason why many don't know her well is that she performed in her beloved native land, Iran (Persia) but had to flee when the Islamic regime took over in 1979. I love this woman!
