About That Time Rick Springfield Killed a Guy in Vietnam...
Yeah, that Rick Springfield, the singer-songwriter-actor-former Australian teen idol whose 1968 trip to entertain U.S. troops in Vietnam ended with an attack from the Viet Cong. According to his clearly amazing new memoir Late, Late at Night, Springfield helped load mortars in defense, one of which killed an enemy soldier. "That was a war situation but it is still something that to this day sends a shiver down my spine," Springfield confessed. He also acknowledges having fought depression for years, failed at suicide, cheated on his wife and girlfriends, and ruled out appearing on Dancing With the Stars: "That would be a reason my wife would divorce me." Well. Now you know. [Reuters]

Who cares? Why can't he keep his personal stuff personal? No. Now, he really sounds like an idiot.
Franko,
It takes a real man to confess his sins. He is taking a huge step by coming out and admitting his past transgressions, and that should be applauded.
I agree with Doug here about this being a huge step. Not to mention, this has been LONG awaited & asked for repeatedly by his long-time fans (myself included!)...and he came through for us. :) His success story is one of the more interesting & his writing style is witty & often comical. This book is just another testament to how totally "human" Rick is, which makes him even more "connecting" to his fans in my opinion. :-) Kelley68
He killed somebody!! Give me a break... Springfield is a joke! Try getting attention elsewhere. Go back into hibernation and leave us alone!
