Movieline's Week in Review: So Long, Miss Blankenship
Even with dear friends gone, always remember to it's better to celebrate a life than to mourn a death. And thus, at the end of a long week, we get to Movieline's Week in Review. Huzzah! Be sure to drop in during the days ahead as Dixon Gaines keeps the memories stoked and the future light; the rest of us will see you Monday!
· Thanks to this week's many swell interviewees, including Paul Giamatti, Malin Akerman, Dustin Lance Black, Chris Colfer, Sarah Drew, Laura Innes, Billy Gardell and Verge designee Lucy Punch.
· Russell Brand might have been able to defend Katy Perry at LAX, but he was of absolutely no use on Sesame Street.
· Recaps! We got your recaps, with fall-premiere week yielding a harvest including 30 Rock, Community, Glee, Gossip Girl, Boardwalk Empire, Fringe, Mike & Molly, Survivor, Dancing With the Stars -- not to mention the reliable upperclassman among them, Mad Men.
· And premiere week was also not without its FAQ's, including Lone Star, $#*! My Dad Says, Running Wilde, My Generation, Mike & Molly and Undercovers.
· American Idol named its new judges; we gave them quips. You're welcome, guys.
· Ready or not, Oscar season is here! Don't believe me? Ask Annette Bening and Julianne Moore.
· We dug deep into the '80s to revive a few favorite characters, and deep into the '90s to revive Harrison Ford's mustache.
· Kiernan Shipka is for real. Holla.
