Jon Hamm & Jane Lynch To Have A Big Emmy Dance Number?

jimmy-fallon-emmys_guitar.jpgWhile the rest of us were whiling our Saturday nights with frivolous frippery, NIkki Finke over at Deadline has been putting her nose to the glamor grindstone and has come up with a a couple delicious spoilers for the the big Emmy night tonight, including host Jimmy Fallon's special co-presenters and big 'ol opening musical number featuring Jon Hamm and a bevy of other stars.

Fallon will be joined by comedy geniuses Stephen Colbert, Amy Poehler, and, uh, Kim Kardashian to help present several categories. Called "Special Presenters," they'll team up with Fallon individually at the podium. Everyone think of your best butt jokes and see if you can preempt whatever Fallon and Kardashian come up with!

But before we're treated to the comedy stylings of the amply derriered, Fallon and company have a honey of an opening musical number cooked up. Jimmy will take the stage alone with an electric guitar, singing and play Springsteen's "Born to Run." Then, American Idol barnacle Randy Jackson will join him on bass and an all-star dance troupe consisting of Jon Hamm, Tina Fey, Joel McHale from Community, Jane Lynch and Chris Colfer from Glee, and "very buxom blonde," that Finke wasn't able to identify (Heidi Montag? Pamela Anderson? Charo with a wig?).

I'm not sure when the award show mutated into a Paul Lynde holiday special, but I fully endorse it. Call me when they get Florence Henderson to do a disco cover. And be sure to check out Movieline's liveblog of the Emmy's tonight, because if there's one thing we all love here at Movieline HQ, it's extended bass solos from Randy Jackson.
