Christina Hendricks: I Want To Learn Kung-Fu
While I think I have a measure of love for each and every one of the Mad Men cast (even Betty Draper, that stone cold witch), none of it compares to the endless reservoir of affection I have towards Joan Holloway and Christina Hendricks who plays her. But after her interview with the New York Post where she dishes on the new season and her secret desire to become an action star, I think I love her even more.
Talking about her indelible accordion serenade scene, Hendricks says that the producers originally wanted her to play the piano, but once she revealed her mad accordion skillz, they ran with it. Hendricks mentioned that she picked up the quirky instrument after being randomly given it by a friend but she "stared at it for 6 months before finally calling around to find lessons, which aren't that easy to find. You'd think they'd be on every corner!"
She also mentions that, much like me and every other Mad Men fan I know, she can't really bring herself to call Joan by her married name: "I remember at the first season three table read, we have nametags with our characters on them so guest stars know who we play, and mine said Joan Harris. When time came to introduce ourselves I said, "Hi I'm Christina Hendricks and I play Joan H-H-H ... I couldn't bring myself to say it. So I just said Joan [laughs]."
She also revealed that she would love to work on a movie "where I had to learn kung-fu for three months." Holy God above me, but I beseech You to make this happen. A movie where Christina Hendricks kicks butt and takes names might almost be too much to bear. The line for the official petition for Hendricks to play Wonder Woman starts behind me.

I would like to see more women express the true spirit of kungfu, or martial arts, and as a "private" teacher.. i see few that fully embrace the power within them, until they see this in their body and mind as well.. If you Ms Hendricks need a teacher/sifu then seek out my school...
She had some great action sequences while playing a bad-ass character named Saffron in two episodes of Firefly in 2002-03 on Firefly.

Oh yes, PLEASE God in Heaven do this for us. I mean, Christina has has ome decent acting skills and she could totally fill that armor.
Actually, she has said in interviews that both her red hair and breasts are not natural. Still, she is sexy, but she's not an amazon, so I don't think she would make a very good Wonder Woman just because she has a nice hourglass figure.
