joseph gordon levitt riddler.jpgNormally when a Batman casting rumor pops up, it can be discounted almost immediately. As in: No, Cher will most certainly not be playing Catwoman in Christopher Nolan's sequel to The Dark Knight. (Though Mary Louise-Parker would be great -- just sayin'.) But this latest seems suspiciously real, if only because it's not really saying anything.

Back in June, it was rumored that Nolan was so impressed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt on the set of Inception that he wanted the young star to portray The Riddler in Batman 3. Never mind that the main villain hadn't even been decided yet -- this was definitely happening. Well now another rumor confirms that rumor.

According to FirstShowing, a source close to Nolan revealed a studio casting grid that lists The Riddler as the main villain for the film. And, going further, Gordon-Levitt is tapped as being "interested." Of course there is a slight problem: The same studio casting grid says that the ideal actor for part will be between the ages of 35 and 45. JoGo is only 29. Grains of salt, temper expectations, developing, etc...
