Mel Gibson Out at WME as Hate Tapes Released
And for your Friday news dump: Those nasty racist comments Mel Gibson spat over the phone to his ex-girlfriend are officially live. And they're... angry? In related news, Ari Emanuel has made it officially known that he will not have Gibson on his roster any longer -- officially, unofficially or otherwise. Raise your hand if you didn't see this coming. Hey! I can't see those hands!
The troubled actor-director -- currently embroiled in an apocalyptic break-up and the "pack of n***ers" scandal that comes along with it -- can now finally be heard on tape blowing up in spectacular fashion at ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva. Dark as it is, it's tough to determine where Gibson's rage crosses the line into despair; there's something lost in his voice, or maybe it's just him catching his breath before the next sortie. Either way it's toxic and will not necessarily enliven your Friday night social rituals. Unless you are a lonely neo-Nazi, in which case off you go.
Curious timing, then, with word that GIbson is exiting WME. Of course, he suffered an arguably more crushing blow last week when his long-time agent Ed Limato passed away after a long battle with lung disease. The former ICM titan came along with the William Morris furniture after its merger with Endeavor, bringing his fistful of A-listers along with him. This despite Emanuel's vocal condemnation of Gibson after his anti-Semitic rant in Malibu in 2006, a bit of history that reportedly ended up with Gibson "not officially represented" by WME at the time of Limato's death. Interesting. Nikki Finke also notes that the star's departure is not officially attributable to Limato's passing, but rather the publicity fallout from his Grigorieva bust-up. The release of the tapes is not cited, but you know what to do with two and two.

Actually, Gibson was born in New York State and the family emigrated back to Australia when he was 12. Evidently, Daddy Gibson was hoping that the Australian government would "4F" one of his sons, so he wouldn't be drafted to fight in Vietnam. So, apparently the Gibson Klan are a bunch of cowards, used to only going after weaker people and they run from more powerful opponents.
That explains Mel Gibson pretty well....and here he was in that gung ho movie, "we were soldiers", playacting at war, while Daddy did his best to help his sons avoid actually defending the liberties that the Gibson Klan use so viciously.

As an African-American, who also has some American Indian ties, I don't complain about a thing. Speak of what you know. Where are all the American Indians anyway? Wow, a single voice of reason. Mel Gibson is a passionate, heart on the sleeve type. The real thing too, not overly played up like Glen Beck. He was severely hurt and was lashing back at the source, what he said was supposed to be shocking and over the top on an emotional level, to try to get through and reach that other person. If anything, he needs to separate himself from the cold, calculating and manipulative people he's surrounded himself with because he's an easy target and they've done a number on his state of mind. Look who he works with, associates with, the man is not racist. If anything, given his passionate outspokenness and political views, I suspect his real life has turned into the movie "Conspiracy Theory".
I agree with you one hundred (100%) I hear them raving and screaming shouting all the time, but it is never considered as being racist. It is disgusting that blacks will use everything to make it HATEFUL. I hear the black children in my neighbourhood using the "N" word against each other all the time. I have also heard them cursing the "CRACKERS" yet they get away with it. How is this justice for all. Have heard comedians making remarks, but then everyone just laugh, when it is about whites, and name calling. So disgusted with it all. I agree with you. We all say things in anger. There is just so much hate going around these days. No wonder the world is the way it is. When we get angry we say alot of things, and regret it later.
