Emmy Nominations: Glee Topples 30 Rock, Conan O'Brien and Friday Night Lights Shock

Just moments ago, Sofia Vergara and Joel McHale mounted the stage of the Television Academy in Los Angeles to announce the 62nd Primetime Emmy nominations. It was an exciting morning for Vergara -- who shrieked every time Modern Family (and she) garnered a nod -- and not so much for McHale -- who tried to hide his disappointment every time Community (and he) were ignored in a category ("It's OK, I just phoned it in this year," he joked). And there was an audible cheer when the selections for this year's Variety Show category were announced. Click through to see if Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien will duke it out for the Tonight Show crown again in August -- and to acquaint yourself with the nominees for the 2010 Emmy Awards.

HBO's World War II miniseries The Pacific led the nominations pack with a whopping 24 bids while Fox's Glee finished second with an impressive 19 nods. Conan O'Brien received a nomination for his brief stint at the Tonight Show while both Leno and Letterman were not recognized. The shortlist below.

  • Gee, that miniseries category looks awful slim. Though it is convenient for the undecided/didn't-bother-to-watch-either: just flip a coin!

  • Wellie says:

FYI: "Endgame" is really good. It manages to make the negotiations to end Apartheid fascinating and suspenseful. Chiwetel Ejiofor brings his A game to the production.
Worth checking out. It's available on Netflix instant Watch.

  • Even its shape look dull, but it truly is always so challenging.

  • Hi there, this is a really good blog, i will use this for my project. Thanks

  • I know this if off topic but I'm looking into starting my own weblog and
was wondering what all is needed to get setup?

I'm assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny?
I'm not very web smart so I'm not 100% certain. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly
    appreciated. Thanks
