Tina Fey 'Innovents' New Ways To Give NBC the Middle Finger on 30 Rock

You've really got to hand it to Tina Fey. While you would think that jokes about NBC are in the "What's the deal with airplane food?" stage of comedy at this point, she continues to find new and exciting ways to wet willy her bosses -- like reducing the Leno/Conan war to a shift debate between two janitors.

The now-infamous "Khonani" episode aired last night, and it featured, among other things: Khonani, the late-night janitor, requesting a move to 11:30 p.m. because of a contract he signed five years earlier on -- wait for it -- a roll of paper towels (obviously, permanent marker really doesn't work on toilet paper); Alec Baldwin's Jack Donaghy saying with a straight face that NBC was going to "reinvent the way people think of their late night trash removal;" and, after the switch, Khonani complaining that Subhas (the Leno janitor) was taking all his trash before 11:30 p.m. rolled around. Burn!

But wait! Lest you think Fey is only concerned with the newer reign of NBC stupidity, she even found time to take a shot at long-departed Ben Silverman. Though, to be fair, a show called Bitch Hunter starring Will Ferrell and a shotgun would qualify as one of his better programming ideas. NBC: It's Fresh.

Fays movie bombed at the boxoffice. Her tv show tanks in the ratings. The only gig she can get is putting down Palin on SNL. And yet NBC pick her up for another season. When will they relise she is just not funny.

  • VoV says:

Her movie hardly tanked ... a $25mil opening isn't tanking, only making $1mil less than Clash of the Titans which was still riding it's wave of hype and not everyone had yet to realize how much it really sucked ...
Her show is actually fairly successful, but in a bad time slot. Honestly, I've hardly ever watched it because of this.

  • maria says:

Tanked? WTF movie were you watching?
    Date night was absolutely hilarioussss
It got second in the box office.
Tina fey is the funniest woman I've ever watched!

  • Obvious says:

30 Rock stays in 60th place in the ratings as usual, and NBC picks it up for yet another season. They are far superior programs that barely get a chance on TV. So yes, NBC is stupid.

  • Obvious says:

BTW, Tina Fey's movie died quickly because at least half of any potential audience will NEVER watch anything that has Tina Fey in it. Lotsa luck after NBC stops carrying your lame sitcom, Tina. You can always get gigs emceeing liberal award shows in NYC and LA, but that's about what you will be limited to.

It looks like the trolls took a wrong turn at Breitbart's asshole again.

  • Andrea says:

Sure Tina's show isn't seen by a lot of people, but that's only because there are not very many intelegent people who get the jokes. It's not her fault many people laugh at shit like a naked man jumping on another man. Tina carried SNL as head writer for seven years, wrote the hit movie Mean Girls (which made over $100 million)and has 7 Primetime Emmys (five of those Emmys for being a writer and a Executive Producer)!!! Who has that here?...Yeah I didn't think so!!!

  • me says:

Tina's movie in on it's way to making 80-100 million. That is considered a hit. Sorry.

  • Christina says:

Maybe when you learn how to spell things correctly.
30 Rock is a show for higher intellectually entertained audiences. There's no obvious punchline. You actually have to listen and pay attention to catch all of the jokes. Something you're probably not used to doing.
I love when people don't know what they're talking about, and then try to talk about it to try and make them selves seem intelligent.

  • SARCASM RULES says:

omg people who hate against successful intelligent people are called well haters..and what they feel is envy..we have to give them a brake since they obviously don't understand true comedy.

  • VoV says:

Seriously ... Tina, if you or your people are reading what most of these idiots are saying -- ignore it.
    You're awesome!
