EXCLUSIVE: The Full Steven Seagal Story Jenny McCarthy Told Movieline in 1998
When Steven Seagal was sued earlier this week for sexual assault and trafficking women for sex, CBS News dug up an excerpt from a 1998 interview with Movieline where actress Jenny McCarthy appeared to confirm Seagal's tendency for inappropriate behavior. We reached into our back issues to provide you with the entire anecdote.
Movieline's Stephen Rebello conducted the interview with McCarthy to promote her new film BASEketball, and the actress was unusually candid, discussing all the film parts she'd lost, like Mallrats ("Kevin Smith didn't even wait until I was out of the office to start laughing. So rude"), and the ones she'd turned down, like Drew Barrymore's role in Batman Forever ("I didn't want to play a fluff") and Elizabeth Berkeley's in The First Wives Club ("Even though that movie would have let me work with one of my absolute idols, Goldie Hawn, I wouldn't play a girl who sleeps with someone to get fame").
The audition that really wounded her, as Rebello would find out, was the one she had to do in front of Seagal:
When I press her on the subject, the hurt in her voice says she's still freaked. "I went to the audition for Under Siege 2 with, like, 15 other Jenny McCarthys. These girls came in and out of his office and I was last. Steven comes out and goes, 'Hmm, so you're last.' I'm thinking, 'Shouldn't a casting person be doing this?' I go inside his carpet, which has shag carpet and this huge couch, and he's by himself and says, 'Sit on the couch.' I have my [script pages] and I say, 'OK, I'm ready,' but he says, 'No, I want to find out about you.' I knew what was coming. He goes, 'So, you were Playmate of the Year,' and I was trying to go--" Here, McCarthy breaks off and adopts a Laverne & Shirley blue-collar foghorn delivery: "Yeah, but, like, I lived in Chicago, see, and..."
The accent was apparently no turnoff. "I was wearing this very baggy dress," she continues, "which I always wear to auditions, with my hair pulled back. I'm listening to him go on and on about how he found his soul in Asia and is one with himself and whatever. When I said, 'Well, I'm ready to read,' he said, 'Stand up, you have to be kind of sexy in the movie and in that dress, I can't tell.' I stand up and he goes, 'Take off your dress.' I said, 'What?' and he said, 'There's nudity.' I said, 'No, there's not, or I wouldn't be here right now.' He said again, 'There's nudity,' and I said, 'The pages are right in front of me. There's no nudity.' He goes, 'Take off your dress.' I just started crying and said, 'Rent my [Playboy] video, you a**hole!' and ran out to the car." That wasn't quite the end of it. "I'm closing my car door and he grabs me and says, 'Don't you ever tell anybody.' He won't sue me or say anything because he knows it's true. If I saw him today, I would still say, 'You're a f***ing a**hole and I really hope you change your ways.'"
Seagal's lawyer, Marty Singer, said this week about the sex claims: "The lawsuit filed by Kayden Nguyen against Steven Seagal is a ridiculous and absurd claim by a disgruntled ex-employee who was fired for using illegal narcotics." He also called the suit a "complete fabrication without a scintilla of truth."

In older days, in the better parts of society, the more you liked the girl the more polite you were to her and the less you touched. When you were engaged and about to be married, you walked down the street with ONLY THE LITTLE FINGERS ENTWINED. THE MEN WERE POLITER TO THE WOMEN...IN THE OLDER DAYS.

I taught this rule to one of my sons that had not dated until he was
16. He asked me why, so I told him the secret to women's hearts and how
to treat them with respect. I told him, even if you do not want to date
them, do not treat them badly, or scream at them or be rude to them, as other guys do today. They are out there in life as you are, just trying
to find a MATE FOR LIFE, WITH NO KNOWLEDGE OR RULES TO GO BY AND THEY
ARE MAKING MISTAKES JUST AS YOU ARE MAKING MISTAKES.
He came in 2 weeks later and was saying so excitedly, "Mom! You are right, women just love me, they are all just coming after me!!"
He was so happy.
We took a trip to California for a summer school for him. There would be

Women had no rights to their bodies. Psychiatrist wherever they are promoted that Women were looked on as lower or lesser than men in value.
Years later in Nazi Germany we saw the same attitudes in the Nazi
movement which was created by the Psychiatrist there as well, where Nazi's showed 1/2 value of women. Women spies were used sexually to manipulate the people they were trying to get to.
We see this years later...with the push to break down the
value of women through sexual exploitations and viewpoints of
so called freedoms pushed by the movie industry trying to teach
us through our movies a looser viewpoint to practice.As we all know

In today's movies, Everyone has sex on a date...so kids think that is

My sister is a Physician's Assistant. She sees the sexually transmitted
diseases close up. Herpes of the whole side of the face and throat,

The guy tries to get the most colors

I taught my sons correctly and the real reason women are trying to have
sex with them. I also taught my sons that it is THEIR responsibility for birth control.
The last protection to keep from pregnancy is don't put it in!!!

I also teach them, if you don't want to marry her, don't have sex with

you never know what her family is like.
You don't know if she will treat that child right,
beat it or not feed it properly, letting it go hungry. Many women feel

of love to them. (My brother's wife did that to their oldest of 4 boys.
It was as if they both hated him for being alive, and treated him so

I also taught them, You also don't know If they want you as a son in law or not, and if they don't want her to be pregnant and force her to have an abortion.

I then would teach them exactly what an abortion was like in VIVID
DETAIL.
I explained what some of the women I counseled had conveyed to me.
One years ago said that they injected a strong saline solution into the womb.
It would burn the baby so badly, without their skins being formed well
yet, that after 3 days the baby would put off a chemical that made her
go into labor and the baby would come out all burned all over,
still alive,
but chemically burned.
SOME CAN STILL LIVE AFTER THAT. IN THE LATE 1960's I heard of a set
of twins that were grown, in Dallas, Texas, that when they
were aborted that way, burned, but still alive, and the nurse took
compassion on them and took them home and raised them as her own.
The people said they had scars all over them, but were healthy all
the other ways.
I would explain that to my sons, that it was like when they swam in the
ocean, and had a cut and it burned. That was what it felt like, only all over their body, for 3 days solid until that baby aborted itself. If that was the method the lady would use, that WAS THEIR BABY, BEING BURNED, NOT THE NEIGHBORS, OR SOME CASUAL AQUAINTENCE, BUT THEIR BABY..
I then also explained to my sons, the other form of abortion in those days.
As one person had cried to me when she had an abortion. They had used a
small device with a round spoon on the end that had a razor blade edge.
They used this to chop the baby into pieces and the baby would then put off the chemical to force contractions to come out.
The lady said as she got up from the bed she glanced over into the tray
where the baby was still moving with its stomach cut open, its leg chopped partly the way through, its shoulder cut open. It was still alive and moving in pain. She started crying and
the nurse grabbed it and ran out of the room so she could not see it.
The stupid thing is that even after this the lady still refused to use birth control, because she had been religiously taught she should NOT
have sex and it would be easier for her to go ahead when she had a choice.
She was crying to me...after she had just had another abortion.
I explained to my sons, don't make the mistakes of having YOUR BABY hurt or killed.
If you do make a stupid mistake, I will help you raise it. That is your and my flesh and blood, and I will help you. But don't go out there and be stupid on purpose. It is your responsibility.

OMG I think I need ADD meds to read this post...supposed to be a comment, not a novel!!!! Sheesh! Anyway, I have always disliked Steven Segal. NEVER liked his movies...No acting skills whatsoever! Always thought he was a douchebag. Don't know what any woman found sexy in him because I certainly never thought he was sexy. Maybe it was the ponytail....giddyup!

The story is believable because it just isn't hard to picture Segal as a complete douche. Let's not forget this guy gave his ex-wife a black eye.
But I understand the flack McCarthy is getting here. She used her body to get a foot in the door in the entertainment industry, and then wants to be indignant that people only see her as a sex object. She took a shortcut by posing in Playboy and didn't earn any acting credentials by proving she has any actual talent so it's hard to take her seriously when she protests over "fluff" parts. She seems like fluff personified.
That said. I believe her.
What business does anyone (commenting here) have judging either of these two on the basis of an (12 year?) old article? Both of these people have made sacrifices to get where they are.
Maybe they've sacrificed too much and are trying to get back to sanity. Who knows. Just living in LA can make you nutzo, much less working in the movie business.
These two share a vulnerability that their macho exteriors are trying to hide. That could make any kind of communication very unpredictable for both of them.

rumor has it at southern ill university where jenny mccarthy went to college is that she loved taking it up the ass. she was a total slut back then...as rumor says. i had some friends that went there and partied with her and those rumors are not just mere rumors but hard facts. now she is trying to portray herself as a clean wholesome woman but her classmates know differently. she is just looking for attention...again but this time without the mess.
I'm still trying to figure out what is so wrong with asking Jenny to take her dress off . . . I would ask her right now but I expect to get slapped for it. Worth a shot anyway.
I feel bad for McCarthy being treated this way. I only wish she had dedicated her life to fighting real evil like this, instead of her false crusade against a non-existent alleged link between vaccines and autism.

My favorite part of the story is how JM pretexts with passing up a role in "The First Wives Club" on principle because the character uses sex to get sociopolitical status. At the audition with SS, when she wanted to read, SS wanted something else, and JM "knew that was coming." Then she sat through all kinds of "found my soul in asia" pretext, and then when SS asked her to remove her dress, she argued with him about whether it was necessary or "in the script" even though she'd already made up her mind...
Even when she tells her side of the story JM passes up several opportunities to save herself some grief. Please remember "all the world's a stage." and "all publicity is good publicity." Remember to click all the ads! After you get all huffy over this stuff you'll be much more likely to purchase something impulsively seeking comfort. If you read about someone else getting manipulated, and in the process you are being manipulated, isn't that just delicious?

Even more so of the story of the twins. Abortion has strict
laws that clearly state that after the first trimester
the fetus cannot be aborted unless you have a valid
medical reason. It would not be possible for the children to survive under any circumstance this early on.
