A Marmaduke Movie For a Post-Squeakuel World

Maybe it's because it stars Lee Pace and Judy Greer as the Winslows, two of the most likable actors I can think of. Maybe it's because Owen Wilson sounds just so doggily happy. Or maybe it's because I just got a dog. I don't know -- it's definitely something, because this Marmaduke trailer kind of did it for me.

Granted, any talking-dog-movie trailer featuring the voice talents of George Lopez and ending in a mass poochie conga line is bound to trigger Beverly Hills Chihuahua-related angina flareups. But Marmaduke is different! For starters, Lopez is a cat this time, and some other thickly-accented Latino actor plays the sassy Chihuahua poking its head out of a purse! And did you see those Beagles playing dead? And Marmaduke surfing? And Fergie's never looked better! Ugh, forget it. You're hopeless. Cat people. Sheesh.

Verdict: Two paws up.
