Play Movieline's 'In Memoriam' Oscar Montage Pool!

Sure, conventional Oscar pools are fine ways to impress your friends and make a few bucks on the side. But when it comes to leveling the playing field for even the least film-savvy attendees at your soiree, there's only one pool that does the trick: Movieline's "In Memoriam" Montage Pool.

As even Academy executive director Bruce Davis will acknowledge, the "In Memoriam" sequence of late Hollywood luminaries is among the most difficult-to-produce segments of the entire Oscarcast. "[M]ore people die each year than can possibly be included in that segment," Davis said in a recent interview. "It gets close to agonizing by the end. You are dropping people who the public knows. It's just not comfortable."

That fierce emotional struggle -- not to mention the internal politics of weighing lesser-known Academy members versus mass celebrities, all of whom have died in the period between Feb. 1, 2009, and Jan. 31 Feb. 18, 2010 -- can now figure into your own Oscar tradition as well. Find below a selection of categories compiling some of this year's likeliest honorees, with convenient point values assigned to their recognition on Sunday. Print, share, discuss, and happy gambling! Well, maybe not "happy," but you know. Good luck.
