EXCLUSIVE: Second Season of Jersey Shore to Shoot in South Beach
The producers of MTV's breakout hit Jersey Shore have been dealing with a season two conundrum over the last month -- and it wasn't just the cost of reuniting the show's cast members, who currently command five-figure appearance fees to judge the Sammy's Hot Wings Contest at the Twin Cities Promenade food court. The bigger issue was where the series should shoot its next installment, since it would be too hard to pull off another summer at the titular shore, yet some of the other suggested locales might mess with the show's patented bikinis-and-bronzer aesthetic. Now, Movieline can confirm that Jersey Shore has committed to its season two setting: South Beach.
Rumors that Jersey Shore might set up shop in the Miami neighborhood intensified a week ago when TMZ intercepted a producer's letter to the owner of Miami's Mynt Lounge, asking for permission to shoot there in the coming months. At that time, sources told TMZ that the series was still deciding between Miami and nine other cities both inside and outside of the United States.
No longer -- Snooki, the Situation, and all the rest will be heading to Miami Beach in May. Once there, they'll stay in a house off Lincoln Road in SoBe that MTV is currently renting and renovating for the occasion.
Is Miami ready for a paparazzi explosion this summer -- and, for that matter, is MTV, which mined dividends from the Jersey Shore cast's season one naivete? One thing is for certain: Our juiceheads' daily ritual of gym, tanning, and laundry is about to get taken to the next level.

It's too bad they didn't move them to Martha's Vineyard. The clash with THOSE locals woulda been hysterical.
I think it's an excellent combination besides the name issue. They should have taped the show in South Beach to begin with. The Italian "guido" theme goes well if you have ever grown up in Northern, NJ and been to Seaside Heights, but the whole "beach" vibe is definitely SOBE all the way!

OMG! Please no! Im from Jersey and I moved to SoBe to get away from these...well I would call them tool bags but even they serve a purpose! By the way isn't the show called Jersey Shore? Can't the title alone keep them up there? These people are a disgrace! P.S. Arent they all from Rhode Island/NY/and surrounding areas not even from Jersey? MTV PLEASE STOP INFESTING OTHER CITIES WITH YOUR TRASH!!! After all...it's South Beach we have enough over tanned juiceheads and over primped self indulgent females down here!

YESSS! Although removing the show from Jersey will lose some of its appeal, I welcome these fist pumpers to my city! Can't wait to see them around...
i don't understand. there are so many south beach reality-type shows, and maybe that's why jersey shore was such a success. even if that's not the case, if something isn't broken, don't fix it!
Its cool that SoBe will have a group of attractive young actors in town for the shoot. My SoBe penthouse condo on the bay is available for short-time periods............. Ha.
If they shot the show in the Arctic Circle it might then be interesting and entertaining. Give me a break.

Since Jersey SHore is over,, I wanted to find out if there would be a season 2 cuz i love the show. On wikipedia, it says that there will be season 2, but they will be shooting in South Beach, Florida instead of JErsey Shore. Does that mean that they are goingt to change the name of the show? Are they going to change the name of the show every time they change places? Is it going to be called South Beach? just a couple of questions. Thanks a bunch!!

Well the show is going to try and fit into South Beach.....LOL well when the guys realize more guys will be looking at them , Snookie will get real upset.
