TV Bites: Matthew Broderick Lands on Beach Lane

· The television medium this morning welcomes Matthew Broderick, who has signed on to star in an NBC sitcom from Lorne Michaels and Paul Simms (NewsRadio) called Beach Lane. Broderick will star as a celebrity author recruited by an irresponsible millionaire to manage his struggling small-town Hamptons newspaper. Michaels and Simms will executive produce alongside 30 Rock's Marci Klein. After being courted by TV networks for years, the project marks Broderick's first full-time foray into series television. The actor was initially approached months ago about the project but only committed after reading the final script, written by Simms. [Variety]

Lost fans shock ABC execs, Andy Samberg preserves the Parks and more TV Bites after the jump.

· Diehard Lost fans have shocked ABC executives by turning their noses up at the low-quality premiere leaked on YouTube in favor of tonight's hi-def episode on TV. [Reuters]

· Andy Samberg will visit Parks and Recreation for a March 18 episode in which he plays the head of security for Pawnee's Parks who butts heads with Leslie (Poehler). [zap2it]

· MTV producers have already scouted 10 U.S. cities to set the second season of Jersey Shore and are expanding their search to international locations. [TMZ]

· Syfy will tackle fairy tales for its Saturday night TV movie franchise, with Hansel & Gretel and Little Red Riding Hood among the first stories that the network will reinterpret. [THR]

· Spike TV has ordered another docu-series designed to make viewers question the current state of television entertainment in Half Pint Brawlers, which examines the world of little person wrestling. [THR]

  • Looks like Ameriie is really switching up her style in her newest track, titled Outside Your Body. She's returning to her Korean roots in this song, melding R&B with Korean pop! This intergalactic song sounds great on my phone and I really can't wait for the music video to drop.
