The End is Near!

Pretty much everyone got a little bruised this week at Movieline, whether it was while witnessing an unprecedented network pile-up, a blockbuster franchise toppling, or just trying to keep up with the torrent of non-stop goings-on the beat tossed our way. Help us parse them after the jump, and have a great weekend!

· Conan O'Brien didn't exactly go gentle into that good late night. The repercussions were swift and severe. The solutions? Not so much. But at least Jay Leno and Carson Daly are taken care of!

· Avatar pissed off both the Vatican and the Russians -- and that was even without the horrible sex scene included.

· Spider-Man 4's implosion at Sony sparked new casting scrambles and franchise stock-taking.

· Conveniently coinciding with the show's season premiere, Simon Cowell announced he's leaving American Idol. We offered handy viewer survival guides as well as replacement suggestions for FOX.

· Many thanks to this week's delightful interviewees, including James McAvoy, Claire Danes, Nina Garcia, Michael Fassbender, Yvonne Strahovski, Jessica Walter, and IMAX boss Richard Gelfond.

· You heard and/or saw it here first: Disney is actually developing a Lost ride. Neil Jordan and Colin Farrell's Ondine found a U.S. buyer. And the Stateside poster for Bong Joon-ho's terrific Mother.

· Trailers for The A-Team, The Ghost Writer, Chloe and The Donner Party all underwent our Two-Minute Verdict.

· We predicted the likeliest Bad Movies We Love among 2010's upcoming releases.

· Bachelor exile Rozlyn Papa got a close read -- or least a closer read than her man-kimonoed paramour.
