Would You Date This Moodle?

· Knocked Up star Jay Baruchel will front his first feature with She's Out of My League. In the trailer, Baruchel's friends designate him a "moodle" (that's short for "man poodle"), a nice guy that women don't want to sleep with. Of course, he shows them up by winning the affection of a regulation hottie. This is a plot device film scholars call "the Apatowian Imperative."

· Boner humor! See, this movie understands you.

· Mark Burnett plans to re-shoot his prodigy-centric game show Our Little Genius because he says contestants were misinformed of the rules.

· In horrifying-and-sad news, the stylist on Mo'nique's talk show was murdered by her husband, who drove around with the body in his trunk for two days.

· Real Housewives of Orange County star Tamra is getting a divorce.

· Gabby Sidibe and Dakota Fanning star in V magazine's "Size Issue," because it's 2010, and we still need photo shoots to tell us how to appreciate unskinny people.

  • Furious D says:

    1. Boner humor is essential for modern comedy, because Hollywood doesn't have anything else to work with.
    2. Sounds like those little geniuses weren't smart enough to get with the program!
    3. I'm not going near that one.
    4. Does that mean she'll get a show called the Real Divorcees of Orange County?
    5. Miss Sidibe better bank her money, because while Hollywood is praising her now, once the Precious buzz fades, she's unemployed until her "after" commercial for Jenny Craig.

  • Seriously, what the hell is going on in that movie? It looks like they cast the stunt doubles from Knocked Up to be the guy's friends. There's the not-Rogen, the not-quite-Hill, Sorta-Segal. Sorry Gwen, but THAT shit is bananas.

  • Bib Fortuna says:

    "front his first feature" ehh?
"I'm Reed Fish" and a few other films would like to have a word with you....

  • Gallant Patsy says:

It reminds me of when I was eight, and we were babysitting the neighbour's poodle. We finished a box of vanilla ice cream, and cut the box so that it was flat to the floor. The poodle was doing handstands on his front two legs to get at it better.
So long story short, ladies, date the moodle.

  • Martini Shark says:

The Apatowian Imperative" was the weakest of the Robert Ludlum spy thrillers.
