BREAKING: Brittany Murphy Dead at 32

TMZ is reporting that actress Brittany Murphy died this morning after going into full cardiac arrest. Says the website: "A 911 call was made at 8:00 AM from a home in Los Angeles that is listed as belonging to her husband, Simon Monjack, the Los Angeles City Fire Department tells TMZ. We're told Murphy was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where she was pronounced dead on arrival."

Just last month, Monjack himself was rushed to the hospital after his flight landed at LAX and he stopped breathing.

Murphy rose to fame in 1995's Clueless, then briefly became an even bigger star when films like Don't Say a Word and 8 Mile led to star vehicles Little Black Book and Uptown Girls. Her last film was the Lifetime movie Tribute. She was 32.

I'm saying it now: If I read anything about how we're mourning more for Brittany than the average person, I will reach into my keyboard and strangle you myself for you're probably a virgin who can't drive and thus irrelevant to society.

  • Colander says:

I will say that the movie Clueless basically taught me how to talk (I was a tween or something, but this is essentially the truth), so I was kind of rooting for this girl.
She'll be in the Expendables next year, so let's not be too sad about the whole Lifetime movie thing.

Sad... but where's the love for Dan O'Bannon? The man co-wrote ALIEN, BLUE THUNDER and directed RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD.

  • snickers says:

    Plus one.

  • snickers says:

Brittany was a well-known actress and therefore worthy of the news of her passing. Do you know the average person's name?

  • SunnydaZe says:

She is brilliant in "Sin City" and "Clueless". I will miss the many roles she would have went on to portray.
