I usually expect a strong whiff of subversion when a project is announced by Michael Stipe and Sandy Stern's Single Cell production arm, so forgive me for waiting for the punchline on this little bit of news: The duo has announced that they'll be making an ensemble romantic comedy that utilizes the entire songbook of Barry Manilow, and that "the idea for the film is [close] in tone to Love Actually."
