Eminem Confirms Clear Fakeness of Clearly Fake Bruno Stunt

If there's one movie catchphrase I've tried (with limited success) to make popular, it would have to be Samuel L. Jackson's weird line reading of "Hold on to your butts" from Jurassic Park. Now, though, I've discovered the perfect time to break his warning out from the mothballs: Eminem has some completely shocking news about Sacha Baron Cohen's ass from the MTV Movie Awards. So, hold on to your butts! See: thematically appropriate, and it gets you prepared for this startling revelation from RapRadar:

RapRadar: Can you clear up the Bruno stunt at the MTV Awards? Was it staged or planned?

Eminem: Sacha called me when we were in Europe and he had an idea to do something outrageous at the Movie Awards. I'm a big fan of his work so I agreed to get involved with the gag.

Was it executed the way you agreed to, and if not, do you hold MTV or Sacha responsible and will you take any kind of action?

I'm thrilled that we pulled this off better than we rehearsed it. It had so many people going "nuts" so to speak. Everyone was blowing me up about it.

After you left the ceremony, where did you go?

After the ceremony I went back to my hotel and laughed uncontrollably for about 3 hours. Especially after I saw it on air.

You can stop holding onto your butts now.

  • Furious D says:

Why is anyone shocked to find out that the event was staged?
It's MTV, nothing gets on the air without the approval of twenty executives and marketing gurus, even the "accidents."
Even the Britney Spears debacle a couple of years ago was, in its own way, planned. They knew from rehearsals that she was unready to perform, but they let her go on anyway, knowing the shock over the downfall of the former teen-pop-tart would get the clips, complete with MTV logo in the corner, would get on every entertainment news show and web site in the world.
It's canned, corporate approved, and about as spontaneous as a Milli Vanilli jam session.

other potent quotables that spring to mind:
'the point is, you are alive when they start to eat you'
    'he's like me, he's a digger.'
'the lack of humility before nature that's being displayed here is staggering'
...i have to get back to work.
