Buzz Break: A Ton of Bricks

· Hey, it's a Lego version of Carl from Up. Call us when the Wall-E bento artist makes some Russell sushi. Wait, is that racist?

· Kevin Williamson (who was less-than-pleased to see Ehren Kruger take over his Scream scripting duties for Scream 3) is picking up the franchise with plans to make...you guessed it...another trilogy.

· Congratulations, Kurt Wimmer: after writing and directing sci-fi non-classics Ultraviolet and Equilibrium, you've been handed Total Recall to remake.

· Sex and the City is not a bomb, no matter how much men might wish it to be.

· Sorry, Gawker: I thought this was kinda cute.

    Re: The Scream franchise-
This will be GREAT! Cox and Arquette show up as parents of new Screamers! (Maybe we can get that Spencer kid from the Mtv show to be the bad guy?)
More breasts in this one too.
And maybe we reach out to Streep? (She made Mama Mia and THAT was a horror show.)
    Just thinking out loud.

it's weird: i was thinking about the rumors of a scream 4 just last night, and i'd finally come to peace with the idea; however, after having read this piece of news, it's back to being the absolute worst idea ever.
oh, wait, entrusting the man responsible for ultraviolet with the keys to the total recall is the absolute worst idea ever. looks like bringing back courteney cox arquette and david arquette for a new scream trilogy is going to have to settle for miss congeniality.

ok, so maybe Obama on Conan was cute. i'll concede that much.
now, can someone explain to me why they opted to score NBC's unprecedented, all-access pass to the Obama Administration with a string of hip-hop songs from the mid-90s?
something about watching our nation's first black president roll out to pick up burgers and bounce with it, bounce with it to Jay-Z's 'Can I Get A...' feels inappropriate. but maybe that's cute too? can we make 'The Thong Song' the soundtrack to Michelle Obama's east wing? because they're so relatable. and also very black.

Hey, Equilibrium is an excellent film and Ultraviolet is... Well, Equilibrium is an excellent film!

I own a copy of Ultraviolet only for the fact that I couldn't resist watching Milla in another sci-fi setting. It is nowhere near the caliber of The Fifth Element, but it's good for an occasional fix.
