Shannen Doherty, Kathy Ireland Attempt to Shore Up Flagging Republican Party

On a day when the Republican party is upheaval following Sen. Arlen Specter's decision to become a Democrat, it's good to know that conservatives can still count on their base: Southerners, and a random helping of yesteryear's C-listers. Who need a measly, filibuster-proof congressman when you've got Shannen Doherty and Kathy Ireland on your side, right guys? And both ladies have got somethin' to say!

WalletPop caught up with the 90210er last week and today posted a video of Doherty's response to the credit crisis (a natural thing to ask her about on the red carpet). "This goes down to why I supported Ronald Reagan, with the trickle-down theory," explained the actress, who once had her 90210 wages garnished for writing bad checks. "It's a really simple process. The more money that people make, the more people they can employ, the more jobs that are out there, the less unemployment that you have." I dunno, I think I would understand it better if it were coming from Andrea.

Also, Kathy Ireland! The former swimsuit model is not a fan of abortions, says Fox News excitedly. In her own words:

"I called Planned Parenthood and begged them to give me their best argument and all they could come up with that it is really just a clump of cells and if you get it early enough it doesn't even look like a baby. Well, we're all clumps of cells and the unborn does not look like a baby the same way the baby does not look like a teenager, a teenager does not look like a senior citizen. [...] I've also asked leading scientists across our country to please show me some shred of evidence that the unborn is not a human being."

Strangely, the leading scientists across our country have not yet gotten back to the supermodel. Does this somehow disprove the premise of The Big Bang Theory?

Kathy is stoopid. Would she hold a funeral for a miscarriage?

  • It almost always makes me uneasy when actors get on a political soapbox - no matter which side of the aisle they prefer. But neither example above is as incoherent as what comes out of the mouth of double Oscar winner Sean Penn - who never met a dictator thug he didn't like.

He didn't like that dictator Bush.
