Star Wears

If Audrey Hepburn were alive today she would probably dress a lot like Natalie Portman.

Part elegant, part eccentric, 100 percent interesting, Portman's seemingly effortless way with style may change after she hits screens in _Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace--couture creatures will be after her with an even greater frenzy--but we suspect the fashion force will always be with her.

While she's too busy juggling high school honors classes and her acting career to get desperately tangled up with appearances, she keeps an eye on fashion--Helmut Lang and Miu Miu are two of her favorite labels. Still, she's just as likely to wear Abercrombie & Fitch--look at how she puts a denim jacket over a black satin dress. Portman gets bonus points for never looking overtly sexy. She'll go for a girlish prettiness (that blue dress is by Tocca) or, when she wants to look like a star in a grown-up gown, she'll choose a Prada satin number befitting a princess. It's the spirit of Audrey, alive and well, and heading towards the millennium.
