Yesterday, MTV tried to wake us up early with its 2010 Video Music Awards nominations. Didn't happen. But with 13 nominations, Lady Gaga just broke the record for "most nominated female solo artist in a single year." Way fancy. Since "Bad Romance" is this year's "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" -- garnering 257 million YouTube views -- we can assume it'll win Video of the Year. But where will it rank among all other Videos of the Year? Or better yet: Does it even deserve to be mentioned with the other winners? Join us for the historical rankings!

At long last we've reached D-List's final episode. Phew, ladies. Kathy Griffin did her best to appear guileless and truthful during her sixth season, but Movieline debunked the crap out of her. One last time, let's pick the most real and fake moments from last night's finale.

Comedic heavyweights Will Ferrell, Michael Cera and Betty White hit the late show circuit last night to promote their newest ventures. For Ferrell and Cera, that meant their latest feature films The Other Guys and Scott Pilgrim. For Betty White, that meant plugging her new apparel line. Really.

Barring the occasional Disney Channel special (looking at you, Suite Life of Zack and Cody), a legitimate crossover not between a show and its spinoff is a rare, mystical thing. Which is perhaps why, amid the Babel Stones, the makeshift lightsabers and the fire-breathing mechanical spiders, the first installment of the Warehouse 13-Eureka crossover felt so right.

Sue Sylvester, you may have to think of some new material. JustJared is reporting that in Glee's second episode back next season -- the Britney Spears-themed installment, you'll remember -- Matthew Morrison will pay tribute to Brit-Brit's famous Tarzana meltdown by shaving his head for the show. But will it stick? Producers are also searching for a body double for Morrison who "must be willing to shave [his] head on camera." Another suggestion: Maybe Lea Michele could use a stunt double. [Just Jared]
The executives at FX raised trumpets to their mouths and unfurled a scroll of good news today, including the renewal of FX's Louie. The Louis CK comedy has a new episode tonight, and you may prefer it over the fire-juggling antics going on in NBC primetime.

FX has ordered a comedy pilot from Reno 911 creators Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant which is being called an "unofficial Star Trek parody." The network announced that the project would "follow the heart-pounding action as our crew visits hostile planets, meets alien life-forms, and tries to have sex with each other in their tiny, metal bunk beds." Like Reno 911, the still-untitled project will be part-scripted and part-improvised. [THR]
Last night on The Bachelorette, Ali Fedotowski considered the flavors of Roberto and Chris L., her remaining two bachelors, and selected a scrumptious husband. Did she opt for Roberto's salsa-with-no-cilantro inoffensiveness or Chris L.'s ho-hum Cooler Ranch charms? The answer will shock you. Maybe.

It seems as though Bones producers may have stumbled upon a secret weapon for a sure-fire ratings surge come this October: aspiring actor Mike Sorrentino, best known for his fine work on MTV's Jersey Shore as "The Situation." Even better, Fox is building an entire guido-themed episode around The Sitch's possible arrival.

If you think Mitchell and Cameron should have kissed by now on Modern Family, Glee creator Ryan Murphy agrees with you. "I hate it on TV shows, and there's one show that I won't name right now, where it's like 'Why aren't these characters kissing? Don't they have a child?'" he said yesterday after Glee's TCA panel. "That's ridiculous to me. I don't understand it." Murphy promises that on the episode of Glee he's about to direct, Brittany and Santana will kiss several times almost as a direct response. "Weren't they doing it back on Roseanne? It is just so outdated and archaic to me and as a gay man, I would never do that." [Greg in Hollywood]
Despite some patently transparent protestations from creator Ryan Murphy, his uber-hit Glee couldn't stay out of the headlines if it tried. Case in point: Lea Michele saw a car accident!

At the TCAs just now, Glee creator Ryan Murphy confirmed that season two will feature more of the supporting characters who have gone unexplored thus far. "Instead of going bigger and overstuffing season two, which I think people would expect us to do, let's go under it," he said. "Let's really sort of dwell on these supporting characters like the Santana character, the Brittany character, the Mike Chang character, the Tina character. So we're giving all of those actors big storylines this year." Also coming up: Season two's third episode will explore faith, and a later episode will feature all original music.
