Chris Pratt Had a Perfectly Good Reason For Giving His Cat Away on Twitter

ChrisPratt150.jpg"Bottom line, and not that this is any of your fucking business weirdos, but my wife and I want to start a family and we ABSOLUTELY CANNOT have an animal that shits all over the house. Sorry. If you are a parent you will understand. And if not, that probably explains why you have such a hard on for cats. Just sayin'." And that, Internet, is why Moneyball star Chris Pratt gave up his 15-year-old cat Bella for adoption on Twitter. The actor ultimately gave Bella to a Twitter user named Meghan who is a "perfectly reasonable, sweet and friendly cat lover." Pratt's wife is What's My Number? star Anna Faris. [ChrisPratt.com]

If your cat is shitting all over the house, _you_ did something wrong.

  • Priya says:

Couldn't believe all the backlash about this! Pratt said the cat was old and sick and had issues with the dogs in the house. It's not like he took it out back and shot it. He found it a good home with a loving person who would cherish that cat until it passed. Geez oh man.

Can't wait until he tries to find a home on Twitter for the baby when IT starts shitting all over the house...

  • KevyB says:

Sorry, but he pawned off a cat that was 15 years old for a baby that hasn't even been conceived yet??? Nice try. He obviously couldn't deal with the cat being sick anymore so he devised a pathetic excuse, and then decided to insult people who aren't parents in the process. AND HE'S STILL NOT EVEN A PARENT! I'm calling D-baginans!

Agreed - his logic is not really working here, plus his pissy response falls into the 'doth protest too much category. And seriously, this can't be emphasized enough: if you don't want everyone all up in your business DON"T POST IT ON TWITTER/FACEBOOK.

  • Alex says:

So let me get this straight... He put his cat up for adoption and found a kind owner to give it the care he couldn't (like a responsible person) instead of just taking it to be put down or throwing it out and you think it's your business to get pissy about it? He can be pissed about this if he wants because it's a stupid thing to get backlash for. Seriously, do you have nothing better to do with your day? Is this all making too much sense for you to process?

  • Jane says:

You don't seem to understand that giving your cat away on twitter isn't even almost responsible. Taking the cat to the vet to be checked out, putting her down, giving her to somebody you know, etc would be responsible. His wife isn't even pregnant and he used her maybe being pregnant someday as an excuse. Giving it away could have been calmed down if he didn't respond to the backlash with immaturity and crazyness. Name calling etc isn't a quality a future parent should have. So it's not only the bad decision, but also the immature responses he had when the backlash came. I have a feeling this was his wife's cat that he didn't want because he's a psycho and psychopaths tend to be dog people.

Extremely well said. Isn't it funny that the person bitching about others not making sense obviously just doesn't understand common sense? Furthermore, most of us here are having problems with his moronic response to the situation more than the actual situation.
The cat is FIFTEEN! It's apparently sick, and coupled with its old age, it probably won't be around much longer so the future pregnancy story is a complete crock. Depending on how sick it is, it probably would have been more humane to put it to sleep than to pawn it off on a complete stranger. Or to be allowed to live with its owner until it died. One of my cats had cancer and I NEVER would have given him to a complete stranger during a time he most needed comfort and love.

  • Alex says:

How is giving the cat away on one outlet different from another outlet? I'd really love to see anyone else not get upset when random strangers are telling them what to do with their own lives as if they know every single fact. How do you know he didn't see a vet? How do you know his wife isn't in fact in early stage pregnancy?
You don't know anyone's life but your own. It's real cute you think you're high and mighty on anyone's choices, but seriously, get mad about things that actually matter.
Also, great job at being a complete hypocrite "psychopath".

  • KevyB says:

So, you advocate giving away sick animals on Twitter? Don't EVER own animals. Once again, don't talk about other people's lack of common sense when it's clear you have none.
Furthermore, ONCE AGAIN, our commentary was more about him making up excuses than his actual behavior, though that was quite toolish also. Though keep making more excuses for him and maybe one day he'll let you blow him!
