Ghost Musical Hits Broadway This Spring
Keeping with the trend of bringing movies to the stage, London's musical adaptation of Ghost -- the embarrassingly awesome '80s classic featuring Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore, Whoopi Goldberg and the most erotic pottery wheel scene in the history of cinema -- will hit Broadway this spring. Matthew Warchus, who is directing the Piccadilly Theatre production of Ghost will shepherd this one overseas, though no word yet if stars Richard Fleeshman and Caissie Levy will come along. Ahem - I saw Road House: The Fightsical several years ago off-off-off-Broadway. It starred the guy from The Last Dragon in a mullet wig and instead of musical numbers, every 5 minutes they would bring out mini-trampolines and have huge choreographed fights. No, I am not on drugs.
I can attest to this, as I also saw this. It was pretty spectacular.
The best was whenever they needed to have cars driving between scenes, they would have a video camera going through a scale model town.
I eagerly await the backstage drama, extended delays, and numerous cast injuries due to the complex effects employed to make a penny float on stage.
Won't this make the third Whoopi movie turned into a Broadway play? Who knew?
