VIDEO: John Lasseter Grumbles at Toy Story 4 Question, But Kinda-Sorta Confirms?

Watching anyone dodge questions during a live interview is great fun, but John Lasseter elevates the thrill to a new level in a short clip from the BBC series chat show BBC Breakfast. After he calmly explained to the anchors just what it means to direct an animated film (It's like other films! More drawings though!), he fielded a question about the possibility of a Toy Story 4. He squirms, he ducks, he weaves -- and he confirms?

God bless the sputtering lips of Tom Hanks, because Lasseter was rendered asthmatic for a second there. You use your Cars 2 tactics, John! Vroom, vroom, evading all the way. Here's the telltale line: "We haven't announced anything, so I can't really..." That's a misleading response if the film absolutely won't happen. And also: Why would Tom Hanks be lying in the first place? He's not a misbehavin' emcee like Chet Haze.

Let's start making predictions now. Bo Peep comes back pregnant with Rex's child, and an obstetrician Shrinky Dink declares the child a monstrosity. Time for the hard-hitting issues, Lasseter. I'm talkin' bout half-breed dinochildren.

Man, I'm so disappointed if this is true. Something looks to have gone seriously awry at the top end of Pixar lately. I understand they've got lots of mouths to feed and shareholders to make happy, but they didn't get that way by leaping for the cash, which is what this looks like.
I found the ending of TS3 incredibly moving, and it was nothing to do with Andy's loss, it was because the farewell to each character was clearly (I thought) intended to be Lasseter and co farewelling them as well. I don't begrudge them their continuing life in short films, but I'll feel utterly betrayed if there's another feature.
Dudes. IT. IS. DONE. There was already a large degree to which TS3 was a remake of TS2 (still, I think, the superior film). I'm sure everyone is pissing in each others' pockets up there, and any justification for another sequel will be seized upon eagerly, but nah. You might have the greatest idea for the next bit of narrative ever; it doesn't change the fact that THE STORY IS OVER.
I thought Pixar had more class.

Lasseter works for his Disney overlords now so anything that can possibly turn a buck in merchandising will get a sequel - The man sold out.

    NNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!
The ending to Toy Story 3 was the perfect farewell to a perfect trilogy,,, Pixar can go FUCK THEMSELVES if they try and cash in by making a fourth.
I already lost a lot of respect for Pixar for making Cars 2, by far the least well recieved Pixar movie,, critically and financially,,Disney just seemed to want to make money through the merchandising side of things
Where was the sequel to The Incredibles,, or Monsters Inc,,
I completely agree with the comments above, and M&M is right,, Disney seem to be calling the shots now at Pixar which is a very sad thing!!
