Awesome Marine Sgt. on Mila Kunis Date: 'This Was My Dream'

milakunis-300.jpgKeeping up with real news -- and not, say, what the plot of the next Vin Diesel action film will be -- can be quite a drag. Senseless deaths, natural disasters, debt ceilings -- it's enough to make a person want to crawl up into a ball and cry for three days. Which is why the story of Marine Sgt. Scott Moore seemed to strike a chord this week. After all, it's not every day when a real-life American hero gets to go on a date with Mila Kunis.

You know the specifics: Moore posted a video online asking Kunis to the Marine Corps Ball, it went viral, Justin Timberlake cajoled her into saying yes, and the rest is history. In a new interview with Moore posted to Military Times, the sergeant revealed the thought process behind his gambit:

It was kind of a bet between me and Marines in my platoon. I told everyone I was going to do it, but they didn't think I would go through with it. One day we had a couple minutes, and I took another Marine out with me and we shot two takes. The first one was without sunglasses but I was squinting too much because it was so bright, so we shot the one I uploaded to YouTube. The rest of the Marines liked it, so I posted it that day.

[...]

I wanted to take Mila Kunis to the Marine Corps ball. We all talk about what we are going to do when we get back, and this was my dream. I do feel bad for putting her on the spot, but it's not like I was going to bump into her on the streets of Musa Qal'eh between now and the ball.

Outstanding. Sgt. Moore says he has yet to talk with Kunis directly, but her "people" have contacted him. Now all that's left is picking out the right corsage.
