· When Captain America: The First Avenger gets released around the world later this month, it won't bring the America part to three countries. Russia, Ukraine and South Korea chose the Marvel-approved The First Avenger as the title for the Chris Evans-led film, despite the fact that not having the brand recognition of Captain America could hurt box office prospects. Speaking of box office prospects: does anyone else think not releasing Captain America over the Fourth of July holiday was a sizable miscalculation? Just sayin', America and all. [THR]
· In the British edition of GQ, Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe reportedly admitted to having a bit of a past drinking problem. "I became so reliant on [alcohol] to enjoy stuff. [...] There were a few years there when I was just so enamored with the idea of living some sort of famous person's lifestyle that really isn't suited to me." he said. "As much as I would love to be a person that goes to parties and has a couple of drinks and has a nice time, that doesn't work for me. I do that very unsuccessfully." · Can you really call a massive action set piece that uses 13 seconds of footage from a previous film "recycled"? Apparently. Venezuelan YouTube user Jermaín Odremán noticed how some frames of automotive carnage in Transformers: Dark of the Moon were the same as ones in The Island. But with giant killer robots. Somebody besides me actually saw The Island?!?
I saw the Island too, and I cannot believe they used similar footage!!!
Further reason for me to not want to watch this movie.
To be fair, it's like 13 seconds in a movie that is well over 2 1/2 hours. Doesn't seem that egregious to me, nor does it hurt the spectacle of that freeway chase — one of the best overall action scenes in the film.
Will they be digitally altering the color of his suit, as well?
They should go with "The Last Avenger Who Would Have Anything To Do With A Capitalistic War Machine"
Christopher...if I ever spend this much time breaking down footage from Michael Bay movies to notice 13 seconds of borrowed footage...please...punch me in the face. Come to my home, my place of work, my hangout...and just punch me in the face. No explanation needed, and I'll know I deserve it.
