Tom Hanks' Son Chet Haze Debuts First Rap Video: Turntables and Hooch

Chet Haze, the Northwestern-based rapper and son of Tom Hanks whose "nights consist of absolutely murdering tracks, and living what he is really spitting" according to Facebook, finally released his first music video. It's very great. Chet's meager plans to conquer the rap game begin with the following query: Baby, why you gotta misbehave? No punchline necessary.

That was a big meditation on misbehavin' -- which makes him the rapping scion to Cole Porter, I guess. I still wish he picked a better, more Tom Hanks-centric name. Are Poisoned Waterhole and Cryin' in Baseball taken already?

OK, I know I'm supposed to be snarky and cynical, and I apologize for my lack of decorum, but I actually liked the song. It's got a nice chorus, he's not Eminem but fortunately he's also not K-Fed (how embarrassing is it that I had to google Britney to remember his name). I hope he does well.

  • Louis Virtel says:

Tommy, your diplomacy is appreciated, but I'm afraid it also counts as misbehavin'.

  • Neo says:

Dr. Drew, you've got your star for the next season of Celebrity Rehab.

  • Tommy Marx says:

I ain't misbehavin'. I'm just savin' all my love for you.

  • vigorous anonymity says:

I only hope this is played over a boy loses girl montage in LARRY CROWNE.

  • HS says:

I'll never understand these wiggers. Why on earth would actually want to be black? I feel so bad for Tom Hanks. I mean how humiliated would you feel if that was your son.

  • blizzard bound says:

Well, the whole thing seems very mild to me.
And HS, are you serious? I don't see where humiliation is necessary. It's just a kid who likes to make rhymes. Do you know how many wealthy and upper-middle-class families there are with sons laying down their own tracks, as we speak?!
Better to do something creative than nod out to a TV, I say.
