· Just the other day, Movieline fave Diablo Cody was saying how her dream project would be a film about Beach Boys co-founder Brian Wilson. Unfortunately, it looks like she got beaten to the punch. Bill Pohlad (The Tree of Life) and John Wells (E.R.) will produce a biopic about the just-turned 69-year-old musician, from a script by Oren Moverman (Oscar nominated for his work on the Bob Dylan film I'm Not There). No word yet on what part of Wilson's life the film will focus on, but there are plenty of juicy, Behind the Music-worthy moments to choose from. [LAT/24 Frames]
· The bromance between Ryan Gosling and Nicolas Winding Refn rolls on. Not content with merely working together on the upcoming film Drive, as well as a reboot of Logan's Run, the two could potentially team up again for Only God Forgives. As first reported by TwitchFilm -- and later confirmed by Variety -- Gosling is in talks for a lead role in the film, following the departure of Luke Evans (scheduling conflicts with The Hobbit). Forgives is a revenge saga set in Bangkok, featuring gangsters, gambling and prostitution -- so the Thailand tourism board should be pleased. Kristen Scott Thomas co-stars. [TwitchFilm, Variety]
· Rob Cohen is headed back to the races. The original director of The Fast & Furious is set to helm Bullet Run, an action film about a revenge hit in Iran that goes awry and forces the lead couple to escape in some pretty fast cars. Shaquille O'Neal, this may be the project for you! [Deadline]
· Speaking of unloved directors: According to the Los Angeles Times, Paul Haggis may direct an adaptation of Daniel Silva's series of novels featuring Mossad agent Gabriel Allon. This project was initially announced back in April, but Haggis' involvement is a potential new development. [LAT/24 Frames]
· It's now official: Relativity Media will release the Navy SEALs film Act of Valor over President's Day weekend in 2012. [Deadline]
· Here's a great rumor to start off your Friday: Will Smith apparently wants Emma Thompson to write the remake of Annie he's producing with Jay-Z for daughter Willow. So that's how Smith is spending his time on the set of Men In Black III. [Vulture]

Emma Thompson seems like she could write a good version of Annie. Smart move by Smith I think.
