Law & Order: SVU's Christopher Meloni May Join Man of Steel
The casting blitz for Zack Snyder's Superman reboot Man of Steel keeps adding surprising but well-liked members to its cast (see Movieline's growing gallery here), with Deadline reporting that Law & Order: SVU's Emmy-nominated Christopher Meloni is negotiating for an unknown but "major" role in the pic.
Is this goatee-'stache number he was sporting this week a clue? Guess the role in the comments section!
UPDATE: Meloni told Vulture that he was going to play a general in the Zack Snyder-directed film. Do with that information what you will.

SVU’s Christopher Meloni , hmmmm, if he has a "major role" in "The Man of Steel," I will wager that it is Jor-el, Kal-el's (Superman's) father..... played opposite Christopher Reeve's Superman by Marlon Brando.
Meloni would make a lousy Lex Luthor or Pa Kent. As for the role of Editor in Chief, Perry White, he's not old or gruff enough for that part.
Just my opinion.
He must be Brainiac! Please let it be so! Zod and Luthor are blah. Early reports had Brainiac as the villain!
Please let hot-ass Meloni be something, so that I have one reason to see this flick!
He's probably playing the goonish Kryptonian villain right? The third one in the evil trio?
