Bummer.
This is just so sad, Peter Falk was an amazing actor and star, sometimes undervalued as both. As an actor he worked for Cassavetes in several truly extraordinary films, and as a star he was Columbo, arguably the greatest fictional detective since Sherlock Holmes (or at least Philip Marlowe). He made bad movies tolerable (Vibes) and good movies even better (The In-Laws). You will be missed (cliche).
It was his role in Wings of Desire that I will always remember. After watching him for years as Columbo that really took me aback.
His character appeared again in Faraway, So Close as himself playing Columbo was just too meta for its time.
A Woman Under the Influence. One of the most brilliant movies ever made. RIP Mr. Falk.
