Talkback: Is Jennifer Love Hewitt Really the Worst Actress in Hollywood?
Based on a new analysis of Rotten Tomatoes movie reviews, Slate has determined that Jennifer Love Hewitt is the worst-reviewed actress since 1985. If this statistic sounds impressive, that's because it is.
Jennifer Love Hewitt, a certified Bad Movies We Love vixen earned this un-coveted title by starring in films that only ranged from 0% (Truth About Love, The Suburbans; do you know how rare that is to boast two zero percent credits?) to 53% (The Heartbreakers) on Rotten Tomatoes aggregated review scale. As Slate points out, this means that Love Hewitt has never starred in a film that earned a single "Fresh" rating -- and for those movie math nuts out there, the actress's average Rotten Tomatoes rating is an 18.9 thanks to other flops like Garfield: The Movie, The Hunchback of Notre Dame II and House Arrest.
Just because Jennifer Love Hewitt is the worst-reviewed actress in the past 26 years, that doesn't mean she is the worst actress, however. Who would you nominate for that title? Conversely, does J.Love deserve all the critical hate? After all, she was pretty good in Can't Hardly Wait.

The Rotten Tomatoes stats are certainly less accurate and less fair on actors than on directors. I mean, would it be fair to say that January Jones just got an 86% for X-Men: First Class?

Ackerman is great on Children's Hospital. Jennifer Love Hewitt has never been good in anything.
Not that have an opinion on Jennifer Love Hewitt one way or another, their interpretation is flawed. Other reasonable conclusions could include that JLH (and/or her agent) has(have) chosen her movies poorly. Anthony Hopkins, amazing actor, has been in absolutely terrible movies, but that doesn't mean *he's* a bad actor...
but what about tv she wasn't too bad in ghost whisperer was on many seasons
I am eternally divided by Naomi Watts; she swings between good and terrible.
Who cares. She's hot.
What's the criteria? There are plenty of terrible actors who have only starred in small films that nobody has seen (because of their terribleness). I mean, an objective opinion on such a hyperbolic statement is pretty much impossible. But hell, probably one of the ladies from The Room or something would qualify.
Or if we're talking Hollywood actresses, would Britney Spears qualify?

You do realize that Rotten Tomatoes contains reviews of MOVIES and not of the actors who star in them, right? All this signifies is that Jennifer Love Hewitt is the WORST at picking film projects.

Can't Hardly Wait is the shit. The dude from Twilight/Nurse Jackie is in it. In the movie he's Going to Ithaca College. In real life I went to IC as did Mike Ovitz. We were there in different decades and he has lots of money. That's pretty much where the differences end.
Jessica Alba is the worst actress in Hollywood. No one seems to notice though because of the whole hot factor.

I have to agree with G, Jessica Alba is literally the worst actress to appear in a LONG time. She deserved her Golden Raspberry Award for Worst actress last year. She is terrible in anything, gets nominated every year, and somehow never won more Razzies before. If Robert Rodriguez did notkeep hiring her, she would have been jobless years ago.
I believe Ronald Vaughan would beg to differ.
