"If I could do [one more movie] in my own house, maybe, without them disturbing anything and just one or two people." Sounds like someone wants to try his hand at mumblecore! For what it's worth, Hackman was last seen onscreen in the 2004 comedy Welcome to Mooseport. [GQ]

If the last credit on Gene Hackman's CV is Welcome to sodding Mooseport it'll be a crying shame.
Gene is a great actor! I miss him movies too...
There's something to be said for retiring on your own terms. Hackman leaves behind both some great films and films which were made infinitely better thanks to his presence.
The kid in me will always love him for making Lex Luthor such a worthy adversary for Superman. Who else could scream 'Miss Teschmacher!' with such comic vigor?
But I do agree with Margo regarding his last film credit. It's as bad as Sean Connery leaving the industry after making "The League of Extraordinary Gentleman."
Maybe they can do one last project together and right that collective wrong.
Talk about a success. . .the man can do as he thinks best. . . how many of us ever make it there?
