Reese Witherspoon to Receive MTV's Generation Award; What's Her Best On-Screen Moment?

tracyelection250.jpgMTV is bestowing its Generation Award, the most prestigious Golden Popcorn statuette, to Reese Witherspoon at this Sunday's MTV Movie Awards. Sure, the honor has gone in years past to weaker thesps like Ben Stiller and Adam Sandler, but Witherspoon is a rightful Oscar winner with more interesting roles to her credit than, well, most survivors of Cruel Intentions. What's your favorite Witherspoon role?

I'm partial to Election and Freeway. Tracy Flick, Witherspoon's zealous overachiever character in Election, remains a singular figure in cinema: a memorably dimensional, yet transparent female character who is constantly unlikable. In the Red Riding Hood parable Freeway, Witherspoon's trashy runaway protagonist, Vanessa Lutz, ends up in the grimmest of violent situations but survives them with bobbleheaded buoyancy. Both characters are unforgettable. Who's your pick? You win extra points by choosing S.F.W.
