While Sony plays cat and mouse with U.S. audiences -- Was that Memorial Day Girl With the Dragon Tattoo trailer leaked by the studio? Will we ever know the answer now that the official promo has been released? -- they are straightforwardly plugging David Fincher's adaptation of Stieg Larsson's novel overseas with a few scandalous posters that, dare we say, could be considered NSFW. And finally, the poster for Niels Arden Oplev's Swedish adaptation of the film which makes Noomi Rapace's troubled heroine hacker seem downright wholesome, with her fully clothed-ness, the roaring fireplace behind her and her male co-star Michael Nyqvist a safe distance away. The Swedish movie did have these awesomely sinister teasers posters:

Prefer the Swedish versions. The books are character driven, and hardly sexy.
Also - the more recognizable version of the Swedish poster shows Salander alone in front of the fireplace. Which was a better poster than the crowded version with Blomkvist in the chair behind her.
And yes - the teaser character posters were awesome.
