Apollo 18 Release Delayed For Fifth Time

apollo18_120.JPGThe Weinstein Company is going for some kind of record with its found-footage moon-landing flick Apollo 18, moving the film's release date a fifth time to Sept. 2. It's the third shift in as many months, and one which sets up an Apollo 18/Shark Night 3-D genre smackdown for the notoriously drowsy Labor Day weekend. For now, etc. etc. This is the military brat of sci-fi films, seriously. [Box Office Mojo via /film]

The only time the release date for a Weinstein Co. film should be considered news is if it actually gets released on the first day they announce.
Anything else is business as usual for them.

They should release it against the Transformers movie. Seeing as how they have very similar plots, maybe people would be confused and the flick would have a chance of making some money.
