Does the Newest Thor Clip Spoil an Avengers Cameo?
At this point, being surprised by superhero cross-pollination in the Marvel universe is a bit like Captain Louis being shocked, shocked to find gambling at Rick's Café Américain. That said: The possibly secret cameo that gets revealed in this latest clip from Thor may actually shock you. Shock shock you, even. Click ahead to watch, but not if you want to be spoiled.
Did you see that random shot at around 24 seconds of the bow-and-arrow-wielding S.H.I.E.L.D. employee precariously perched above the Thor mud-wrestling match? Apparently that may have been your very first look at Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye! The two-time Oscar nominee will co-star as Hawkeye in The Avengers, but he supposedly has at least something to do first in Thor. Like point an arrow at a Norse god. Cool?

Hawkeye has to use a compound bow? Oh, well that's just ruined this movie and The Avengers for me.
That scene is very oddly paced.
I suspect that they're using different takes for some of these clips than will be in the movie. So as to keep it fresh when we seethe same scene in the movie. For example, I think I've seen footage of the drop-kick move Thor does, from a different angle. Obviously Kenneth Branagh will save the best takes for the film itself. I think it's a good idea.
So what then is the purpose of this clip? Is it solely for the Hawkeye tease? The fact that it is not just a post credits cameo makes me wonder how big his part will be.
Screw the Avengers movie. What I want from Marvel is SECRET WARS!!!!
Unless you live in Australia then Thor will be in theaters on April 21st 🙂 OOoH yeah.
