Black Swan Producers Deny Natalie Portman Dancing Double Controversy
After Sarah Lane, Natalie Portman's Black Swan dance double, dropped the accusation that Natalie only personally danced about 5% of the movie, it was only a matter of time until Swan filmmakers rebutted her claims. And rebut they have, saying "Natalie herself did most of the dancing featured in the final film." They even managed to play nice with Lane and avoided any character assassinations, saying "We were fortunate to have Sarah there to cover the more complicated dance sequences and we have nothing but praise for the hard work she did." Hmmm. So, it's a classic case of She Said / Swan Said; which side do you believe? [EW]

Don't believe either side. I did most of the dancing in that film.
I don't see the upside in the for Lane. Most likely she is wildly exaggerating, and even if it were somehow proved true, it doesn't erase the power of Portman's performance. Nobody will be starting any lame 'Oscar recall' petitions. Meanwhile, Lane has managed to give other producers a reason to pause before hiring her. She didn't choose her battles wisely.
Exactly. As I've already said on one of the earlier articles, I didn't like the film because of the dancing scenes, I liked it despite the dancing scenes. It's just bizarre that this girl is even trying to make waves with these 'revelations'.
LOL
W Ryder likes to think she did most of the dancing. It's so like her to try to steal my thunder
What's bizarre about it? Portman's fiance publicly diminished the extent of her contribution, and one of the producer's of the movie instructed her to downplay it as well. She doesn't have to put up with that crap. What's the 'upside' for her? How bout retaining her self respect?
Aaron Sorkin is working on a script about this feud as we speak.
