Elizabeth Taylor Dead at 79

liz_taylor_rip300.jpgWow. Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor died this morning in Los Angeles, more than a month after her hospitalization for congestive heart failure. She was 79.

The two-time Oscar winner and seven-time wife had battled health problems for several years, semi-recently taking to Twitter to share new developments and her recoveries with her fans. Taylor made her film debut in 1942 at the age of 10 and would go on to star in some of the next half-century's most celebrated films, including A Place in the Sun, Giant, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.     Everybody praises Marlon Brando's performance in A Streetcar Named Desire, but for my money, Elizabeth Taylor was the best Hollywood mouthpiece for Tennessee Williams' tragic, sarcastic, Southern speechifying.
    Wanna remember Liz as the sharp, sly wit she once was? Netflix Suddenly, Last Summer...Cat on a Hot Tin Roof...hell, she even shined in Sweet Bird of Youth!
