Relax, Everyone: James Franco and Bruce Vilanch Have Made Nice After Their Post-Oscar Spat
James Franco is still a little touchy about his critically-panned performance at this year's Academy Awards as evidenced by the way he reacted to Bruce Vilanch's unkind review on Monday. Correctly recognizing the seriousness of a snarky, scrawled Skitch Twitpic, Vilanch sweat through whichever novelty t-shirt he was wearing at the time and quickly extended an olive branch to Franco, which was speedily accepted by the actor. Franco and Hathaway were awful Oscar hosts, but unless it results in the at-home audience being punished w/ a Billy Crystal ceremony next year, I think the time for beating Franco up is over.
The entire world thinks he was a terrible host, and he knows it. That has got to sting. It's time to move on and hope that the next time any of us sit through a program or film made by the creative team or starring Franco or Hathaway that we are entertained and have a good time.
