Give the marketing department over at Pixar lots of credit. Since jump street they've fully embraced Cars 2 as a worldwide production, not just one concerned with stateside eyeballs. That means what has been viewed around these parts as a clear money-grab sequel, might actually be a really big money-grab sequel. International doubloons count too! Meanwhile, in other Cars 2 news! Screenwriter Jake Mandeville-Anthony has sued Pixar and Disney because, as he claims, both Cars and its sequel are based on his idea; Mandeville-Anthony wants an injunction to stop the release of Cars 2.

Assuming he doesn't win, expect to see the sequel speed (groan!) into theaters on June 24.
