Which Sexy Wonder Woman Is a Halloween Costume and Which is Adrianne Palicki?

If you guessed that the slightly sexier of the costumes was Palicki's, collect your winnings now. (A faux-golden lasso! Actually, it's just a piece of rope.) NBC has apparently improved upon Lynda Carter's get-up with skintight blue pants (instead of shorts), blue boots (instead of red ones) and a super, super tight red spandex corset (instead of just a super tight red spandex corset).

Do you -- or more importantly, does the sorority house that will be buying this costume in bulk next Halloween -- approve?

I'll be the first one to say it after glimpsing the reboot version on EW: the Halloween costume looks better.

  • Andrew says:

The design isn't bad, but they obviously shouldn't have had it made through Party City.

  • Louis Virtel says:

Good GOD! She looks like Sailor Romania!

  • Jeri says:

YUCK! Silver bracelets? And what is up with those boots can you say 1970. Update the girl. Seriously call RuPaul! And for the record WW costume is representation of the American flag where is the white?

  • carg0 says:

i don't think it's BAD per se but i can't help but think about Hugh Jackman's line in the first Xmen as he prepared for his first mission:
"you guys actually go outside with these things"? to which Cyclops replied...
"what would you prefer, yellow spandex"?

This does not bode well for the series. I have done better than this with red knee highs and a leotard and masking tape for my Mom on Halloween that took the costume prize. This looks like she's gonna sound like chubby kids jumping on Grandmas plastic coated sofa cushions when she walks.... I think the issue is going to be how the character of CEO vigilante in neon spandex isn't going to come off just looking like super-bitch. The difficulty is how to maintain femininity and strength in the core character without pissing people off on both sides of the fence. Why is it that Diana from the JL/animated stuff is so spot on, but the live action attempts are so far off the mark? I think the way that Lynda played it was good too, though the 2-D Diana seems more badass like a superhero should be. I've always liked the character as she did it because she could be everything female without the need to either apologize or compensate for it. She just WAS and didn't think twice about it, or what message her costume was sending. This was my model for how to be a strong woman. Frankly, I still think Lynda could pull it off today...

That's not spandex; that's vinyl. Spandex would be better (and a lot less shiny). What would be best for all involved is if this is all revealed as a very elaborate hoax.

  • TheGeek says:

Please Please let this be one of the rejected costume ideas.

  • lynda carter says:

    wow!-how fake are her boobs!

  • Gilkana says:

I think the costume looked better... this is trying too damn hard!

  • ComicFan says:

I don't see why they couldn't stay with the original costume. The new version is awful! They really messed this up. No offense, but the girl they have chosen to play as Wonder Woman is even pretty. The original Wonder Woman was. I don't like either costume. They need fix this.

  • Riopato says:

Why didn't they go with the current comic book's design? She doesn't look like a Greek goddess and those high heels look dangerous to be fighting with.

  • Brian says:

Hmmm...Wonder Woman is practically a greek goddess...and they chose the lilliest white actress on the planet. She has NO muscle tone, she doesn't look very tall, and as sexy as it is, Wonder Woman's costume is actually armor. This is just fetish wear.. Not sure I'll be into the TV show..other than to keep track of cleavage..

  • festie says:

the new pics from the set have red boots but theyre flats. maybe that is just for those scenes so ankles dont get broken. ok i'll give you that but it took terebi to joggle in my head what bothers me the most about this costume. the shine is way over the top and the pants should be higher to accentuate the hips. i realize the trend in hiding a womans hips in order to make her look as sexless as possible. (sorry, i dont find the hips of teenage boys feminine) when you make your torso look longer then it is you wind up looking like an oompa-loompa. especially if youre a shorter person. oh well thats just my opinion.do pa de do!

  • Rick says:

Angelina Jolie could have been the right choice, the real badass WW.

  • comic fan says:

it looks like the sign of whataburger ....

  • karen says:

Her pants and boots looks like a soldier uniform from the civil war.

  • faa says:

Yuck! I don't understand why they want to take a smart, strong, athletic, beautiful, female super hero and make her look like a weak skinny boy in a wig and plastic clothing. Really, would a royal and refined amazonian princess really were anything like that, anywhere?
