Gilbert Gottfried Fired by Aflac for Offensive Japan Tweets
Gilbert Gottfried, a fixture of your childhood as a stand-up comedian, an SNL one-season wonder, or as Aladdin's Iago (depending on your age), lost his job as an Aflac commercial voice actor thanks to his recent pair of questionable Tweets regarding the disasters in Japan. He erased the offending quacks, but one included, "I just split up with my girlfriend, but like the Japanese say, 'They'll be another one floating by any minute now.'" Yeesh. [THR]

I just sat here for ten seconds thinking, "Gilbert Gottfried works for Aflac?" For some reason, I don't think providing voiceover for a commercial is the same as being an official spokesperson a la Jimmy Johnson (creepily) pimping Extenze.
Being shocked and appalled by Gilbert Gottfried being offensive is like being shocked and appalled to discover that water is wet.
I agree with furiuos, I am appalled by his offensive statements.
Now if we can just get a recording of that gecko admitting that he's a Nazi sympathiser.
I did not know that was Gilbert's voice - Very tasteless, but then again, when HAS he had any class - he does the voice of a duck after all!
Genius!
Now even the lost beyond all hope Charlie Sheen is donating to Japan. I knew he had it in him. Keep it up!
He got what he deserved. I've seen him on some of the latest roasts and he sucks. His voice is pretty unique but his jokes are lame. Send him out!
I continue to be appalled by the Aflac duck.
