The New Super 8 Poster Will Change Your Perspective On Alien Movies
Fresh from its fantastic new trailer that announced its Oscar candidacy, Super 8 has unveiled its new poster and it's just as thoughtful, whimsical and tantalizing as its preview. With the money shot names of JJ Abrams and Steven Spielberg prominently featured, it also has a sideways perspective that recalls the knocked-over super-8 camera that may or may not have recorded whatever was in that train. And since I'm absolutely 100% positive Chris isn't reading this, I'll just say that the brother couldn't be more wrong about Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban and Iron Man 2. Still love ya, boo!

Stand By Me meets Cloverfield meets ET (and just like that, this has gone from must see to must avoid).
Those were the exact three movies I thought of when I saw the trailer. I guess if that's what they were going for, they were successful.
The Cloverfield-type monster-movie mystery is a tired marketing device already. So is the alien invasion destroying cities in glorious CG... zzzzzz
People who are already judging this movie based solely on the trailer/poster are worse than the people who actually look forward to Cloverfield type movies.
You can't tell me that trailer automatically says "This movie sucks". I thought it was a well edited, edge of your seat trailer. But I guess because of all the buzz the movie has had over the past year, it is too "mainstream" for you people to like.
How many hipsters does it take to screw in a light bulb? It's a really cool number none of you have probably heard of.

From what I've seen, JJ Abrams isn't just paying homage to Steven Spielberg here. He's literally RIPPING HIM OFF. God you suck JJ Abrams.
