Movies, Breakfast Tacos, and Karaoke: Follow Movieline at SXSW!
Austin is a place that likes to think of itself as strange -- as in the city's motto, "Keep Austin Weird." But it really seems more nerdy than weird when the massive film-music-tech bonanza that is South by Southwest kicks off every year, drawing thousands of geeks of all stripes to congregate. And for the next week or so, Movieline will be among the crowds of geek illuminati reporting on film goings-on from the ground. Join us, with the magic of technology!
How's that, you ask? Thanks to the alchemy of Twitter, you can follow along as Movieline (@Movieline) reports on breaking news from Austin, covers post-film Q&As, karaokes with the various celebrity guests that might show up to cover the Black Eyed Peas onstage at the Alamo Drafthouse's Highball Lounge, and hunts down breakfast tacos daily while the terrifying shrieking velociraptor birds of Austin keep everyone on alert. (If a birdemic were going to happen anywhere in the United States, it would be here.)
The massive SXSW 2011 slate is chock full of films big and small worth keeping an eye on; take a look at the full schedule and tell us what films you want to hear about most, and make sure to follow us on Twitter (@Movieline).

Breakfast taco advice? This here local recommends you get your ass over to Taco Deli, at the corner of Barton Skyway and Spyglass Dr. It's about a couple miles from downtown via Barton Springs Road, and it's worth the trip just for the Salsa Doña.
BTW, the grackles don't arrive until summer. You just have to deal with all the hipster douchebags for now, which is just as bad.
Wow, thanks Old No. 7! I can rest a little easier knowing the killer birds aren't out just yet. Yes, the hipster army will be just as sinister and hard to avoid... but armed with my breakfast tacos (thanks for the rec) I shall put on a brave face.
Are you attending SXSW or hiding out?
I won't be headed downtown just because it's too much of a hassle.
Unless, of course, I was enticed with some free media credentials...
Best tacos: Tacos Selene, a little trailer in front of this bar called the Grackle at e. 6th and Chalmers! One block west of Chicon! Six blocks from my crib!
