Movieline Predicts the 2011 Golden Globes' TV Winners
Only a few hours remain to get your Golden Globes wagers organized ahead of Sunday night's telecast, which means it's time for Movieline's awards bureau to break out its crystal ball and/or payola Geiger counter for the big winners of this weekend's festivities. First up: The television nominees. Let's go to the experts!
Christopher Rosen
Fun fact*: More often than not, the Golden Globes do a better job of honoring good television than the Emmy Awards do. That means the television portion of the Globes should be quite interesting -- and not just because the cast of Mad Men will be present, and presumably, partying. (Right, Kiernan Shipka?)
*This is not a fact fact, FYI.

I'm damaging my credibility as a critic, intellectual, and human being by suggesting a Lea Michele win in the Best Actress department, but I think the Golden Globes need one popularity contest triumph. If there's one award show where academy members think things like, "The Big C? Eww, that's about cancer" -- it's the Globes.

After its last absolutely stellar season, look for it to be a Mad Men night, winning not just Best Drama, but Best Actor for Jon Hamm and Best Actress for Elisabeth Moss. After all, it probably won't be back till 2012, so best to give it its accolades while they can, right? And my sheer undying love for Sofia Vergara makes me hope she'll be a surprise winner come Sunday night. ¡Viva Colombia!

I wouldn't be surprised if Piper Perabo won for Best Actress in a TV Series. It would be considered an upset though the younger, attractive actress in an action series often wins this category at the Globes.
