What Should Have Happened in 2010, According to Movies
·X-Men, 2000
Prediction:Mutants live among humans and the government isn't too happy about it. In fact, one senator is fighting to pass a "mutant registration act," which would force mutants to reveal their identities and abilities. Only, Magneto captures him and turns him into a mutant, then proceeds with plans to start a war against humans. And yeah, you've seen this - the X-men stop him.
Did it happen? Alas, no mutant senators this year. And the only thing the Senate passed to my knowledge was that loud advertisements act.
·Tamala 2010: A Punk Cat in Space, 2003
Prediction: A talking, cigarette-smoking cat flies a space ship.
Did it Happen: Honestly, with all the security and clearances involved in space research and the fact that I have no idea what Russia or China did on this front this year, it's hard to say. I'm going with maybe.
·District 13, 2004
Prediction: The French government will erect a wall around the poorest and most most dangerous suburb of Paris. Eventually, they give up on the wall and just try to blow the place up with a nuclear bomb.
Did it happen? Not quite, but honestly this film seems like the least far-fetched, as impoverished people in Paris get pushed further and further toward the edges each year. No nuclear bombs though.

You certainly gave Coke-Zero more reasons to mock scientists in their commercials.
There's still one day left this year. I feel like at least two of these things could happen by then.
