Friday Box Office: Tron: Legacy Lights Up The Box Office At Number One

Tron: Legacy took the top spot at the box office this Friday, pulling in a cool $18 million from people wanting to see Olivia Wilde and Garrett Hedlund gad about in skintight scuba suits. Yogi Bear established itself as this holiday season's annoying movie to take your annoying kids to, coming in at number two, while The Fighter opened wide at a respectable third place. But people stayed far, far away from Paul Rudd and Reese Witherspoon's How Do You Know, which only brought in an anemic $2.9 million. Your Friday box office is here.

1. TRON:LEGACY: $18,000,000 (new)

2. YOGI BEAR: $4,700,000 (new)

3. THE FIGHTER: $3,800,000 ($4,400,000)

4. THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER: $3,700,000 ($34,000,000)

5. HOW DO YOU KNOW: $2,900,000 (NEW)

LOVED IT!! Amazing movie!! I agree the story was a little weak, but it was good enough that I was intrigued for 2 hours. Visually flawless, great action, perfect soundtrack!

  • I truly appreciated the Tron film. The storyline had not been all that it might be (provided the subject matter needless to say), however the visual fx had been wonderful. Thank you for the ideas.
